Description
This role will have responsibility to work with
multiple Test Engineers in Brocade India and also in Brocade San Jose to
deliver test execution. This role also require experience in IP product testing
, working Software and Hardware Development to help understand the features,
derive test plans, strategy and drive test executions.
Must be able to demonstrate strong proficiency in
testing one or more of the following areas :
Candidate will be responsible for running Manual
Testing, debugging, testing and automation of software features for
Layer-2/Layer-3 switch. Should have good debugging skills and automation
skills. Will be responsible for analyzing test results, problem reporting,
recreation, and verification
1. Designing test plan with inputs from functional
spec or related documents
2. Execution of Manual test cases
3. Automation/Manual of test cases withc TCL/Perl
Prefered.
4. Usage of traffic generators like IXIA, Spirent
and other third party tools
5. Evaluation of fitness of the product to be
delivered to the market.
IPv4 and IPv6 routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF,
IS-IS, VRRP, PIM, MPLS, RSVP, etc.
Layer 2 protocols such as Spanning Tree, Rapid
Spanning Tree (RSTP) 802.1w, VLANs, LACP, VSRP, etc
Experience in performing platform qualification
tests on new products.
Background in TCL/Expect, C, JAVA or equivalent
scripting language is an added advantage.
In this role Test engineer will be asked to
evaluate/develop new test tools , analyze third party vendors and technologies
Must be able to work closely with design engineers,
marketing, and other test engineers.
It is important for the candidate to be able to
understand feature requirements and translate to test cases and test
automation.
This position requires the ability to quickly and
effectively execute testing assignments
BS or equivalent work experience.
4 to 12 years industry experience with Bachelors in
Engineering.
Understanding L2/L3 switching and routing,
Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, IPV4, IPV6, MPLS
Working knowledge of basic QoS, VLANs, STP, RSTP
Protocols.
Understanding of OSPF, BGP, RIP routing protocols.
Working knowledge of MPLS, E-RSVP, LDP, VLL, VPLS.
Experience with system test topologies, planning
and execution.
CCNP certification or higher is desired.
Exposure to Service Provider deployment scenario
testing, handling escalations, issue reproduction, root cause analysis and
testing.
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
Ability to interact with customer account teams and attend customer escalation
calls as needed.
Strong written skills specifically as related to
writing test plans and test reports.
Comfortable with technical and business English
usage ( documents reading, e-mails, conference calls)
