Responsibilities:
The
candidate should be highly motivated and adapt to working in a dynamic and
extremely fast paced environment. You will be involved in creating and managing
a high availability applications development Linux based environment. Primary
responsibilities include:
Installation,
configuration, maintenance of CentOS and Ubuntu servers (physical &
virtual)
Designing,
Implementing and Managing 24/7/365 high availability PostgreSQL databases
Monitoring
and maintenance of Linux server performance metrics
Managing
Linux clustering technologies: Corosync/Pacemaker, HAproxy
Configuration
and maintenance of various application supporting technologies: Redis,
memcached, Squid, Puppet.
Define
and Implement Maintenance procedures including Disaster Recovery, DB maintenance
(VACUUM scheduling), and archiving
Work
close with System Operations to design optimal hardware for growth
Perform
database tuning and performance monitoring, Work as part of a team and be in
on-call rotation
Qualifications
Bachelor's
Degree, 5 years Linux server experience
3+
years in a 24/7/365 environment
Strong
experience required with PostgreSQL
Experience
with various Linux services and applications:
a. HAproxy
b. Corosync
c. Pacemaker
d. Squid
e. Memcached
f. Redis
g. Puppet
h. Nant
Experience
performing a full restore to a PostgreSQL database from backups.
Excellent
SQL and PL/SQL skills
Networking
Experience - TCP/IP, Database Connectivity (JDBC, ODBC) to Database
Connectivity environments required
Excellent
communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong
interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team development
Scripting
experience (SHELL, Perl/Python/Ruby, etc.)
