Job Description
Software
Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate
with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and
utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers,
electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs,
advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software
systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output
requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs,
and operating systems. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they
occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and
formal software process.
Responsibilities:
You will be
responsibile for developing, integrating and delivering Android based IA Core /
Atom client devices
You will be
working closely with internal and external development and validation partners
to debug and deliver
Responsibilities
include system integration, development and debug of various aspects of the
software stack - Kernel/BSP/Drivers, Firmware/BIOS, Middleware, Framework and
Application, for Android
You will
also be responsible for Power, Performance and System tuning for different
domains - Touch, Graphics, Display, Video, Audio, Voice and Speech recognition,
BIOS, etc.
Additionally
you will leverage internal and external new technologies (ex: WiDi, Miracast,
PerC, Multi-touch, Voice/Speech recognition) to develop new usages and
integrate into new form factor with performance optimizations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s
degree with 3 to 7 years relevant experience or Master’s degree with 5 - 10
years relevant experience (degree in Electrical or Computer Science
Engineering)
Experience:
Successful
candidate will have proven experience in development, system integration and
debug in one or more domain areas below:
Experience
in Android kernel, device driver and/or Linux kernel development is a must
System
Software expertise with ability to work on all aspects of the software stack
(Firmware, Driver, Middleware, Frameworks) on Android
Expertise in
Graphics, Display, Camera, Video, Audio, Touch, etc
Experience
with optimization for performance and/or for power
Development
of new usage models for tablets and new client devices a plus
