As a QA Engineer you will work as part of a team responsible for
delivering high quality NetApp software products. Through the application of
systematic test tools and processes you will help deliver reliable, innovative
storage and data management products. You will be part of a team that develops,
modifies, and executes software test plans; analyzes and writes test standards
and procedures; maintains documentation of results; and works closely with
development engineers in resolution of problems.
This position requires an individual who is creative, team-oriented, a
quick learner and driven to produce results.
Essential Functions:
As part of a team, the individual will be responsible for:
Understanding test requirements and formulation of test cases
Setting-up lab and configuring testbeds
Developing, implementing and executing test plans
Contributing to test automation
Collecting comprehensive and relevant data for problem investigation
Writing test reports
Participate in technical discussions within the team or other groups
within the Business Unit associated with specified projects.
Willing to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will
contribute towards team, department, and company goals.
Essential
BE/BTech degree with 5-6 years of experience as an Interoperability,
test or development engineer with a focus on Linux systems and environments
(Red Hat, SuSE, etc).
Prior experience in QA including test planning, process, and QA
methodology
Prior experience of storage technology in Linux including:
Hands on experience with NFS/NIS
Experience in one or more NFS protocol versions (NFSv3, NFSv4,
NFSv4.1/pNFS)
Experience in using wire shark tool
Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocol
Working knowledge on Layer2 switchs
Hands one experience with any Linux based virtualization
Experience with Perl, Mercury WinRunner/TestDirector and QA Test
Automation tools
Excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills
System and storage administration experience with Linux (Redhat, SuSE,
etc)
Self-starter, with ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in
a dynamic environment
Excellent verbal and written skills for communicating with developers
and cross functional teams including QA, marketing and customer support, and
system vendors
Desirable
Experience in NAS environment and any virtualization platforms
Experience with NAS environments on Windows or other UNIX platforms
(Solaris, AIX, HP-UX) is a big plus

Job Requirements:
Interoperability Test Engineer that will plan, develop, execute, and
report test results for NetApp NFS offerings focusing on Linux environments.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for developing and executing interoperability test
strategies to qualify NetApp NFS protocol(s) with various Linux operating
systems
Work closely with a number of organizations to gather test
requirements, clearly document procedures, execute tests, analyze test data,
and report results
Configure test beds with NetApp storage devices, configure Linux
platforms, and set up NFS test configurations
The job will focus on both the Linux operating environment and the
integration of the NFS storage stack
Debugging of interoperability issues found during test execution and
ability to drive those issues to closure with development team or system
vendors
Ability to work with remote and/or geographically distributed teams
(including Dev, QA, marketing, customer support, vendors)
