against both known and emerging security threats via a complete suite of
products and solutions.
The Core Technology Engineering team develops
technology components to be used in its mainstream Consumer and Enterprise
products. The technology components provide the foundation for McAfee’s
Anti-Malware Protection. The components and their products provide continuous
protection to our customers and have a very strong focus on quality
Basic Function and Scope of the Position
This person will be part of the team that is
responsible for the research and development of technology that enable
protection at the endpoint products on a continuous basis. Their primary focus
will be on driving Protection and Performance Efficiencies within a range of
technology.
They will monitor the daily progress against
the project's backlog and will actively participate in the group and project
meetings. They will also be responsible for assisting in the creation of
project backlogs and general project design.
Specific Responsibilities/Functions
A contributor to the research, design,
development and maintenance of a software component with the objective of
developing high quality code in accordance with a product’s functional
specification.
Creating the appropriate design documents for
a specified area.
Developing code and relevant unit tests,
aiding in test design of a functional area.
Contributing to the agreed goals for
Protection and Performance Efficiency in a given area.
Peer reviewing designs and implementations of
other engineers.
Debugging issues, root cause analysis of
problems as needed.
General Capabilities
Participates in the design, coding and
testing efforts of the project as detailed by the project leader.
Help collects data on project status and
contributes to technical and process excellence.
Qualifications
Experience , Knowledge and Skills
Excellent programming skills in C++/C
Knowledge of the Windows API
Knowledge of Intel Processor Architectures
5 Years minimum Commercial Software
Development experience
Desired:
Knowledge of Unix like operating systems
Knowledge of Agile Methodologies
Experience of Security consideration in
Software design
Strong design and modeling skills, e.g. UML
Multi-threading and events-based programming
experience
