Job Description
Build and execute computational models such
as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to support
analysis of structural design and failure mechanics, thermodynamics, and
electromagnetics to help optimize electromechanical design.
Use analysis and simulation driven product
development tools such as ANSYS and COMSOL Multi-physics.
Create mechanical design drawings and sensor
packaging concepts for advanced aerospace sensors using mechanical drafting and
solid modeling CAD tools (such as Pro/E)
Generate mechanical design concepts for
innovative sensor solutions for aerospace applications in R&D environment.
Design, implement, and test mechanical
concepts for working sensor prototypes in an R&D environment.
Support selection of the appropriate
materials used in mechanical design concepts.
Create and run computational models to
confirm design feasibility in a simulation environment before actual hardware
implementation.
Assist in selection of the appropriate
mechanical processing and manufacturing steps for optimal design
implementation.
Generate design for manufacturability
concepts for aircraft and sensor applications.
