Commercial Finance is the
organization responsible for managing, supporting and coordinating the deal
structuring, review and approval process of non-standard business opportunities
related to customers, technologies and geographies.
The Team
The Commercial Finance Solutions
team will become an integral part of the sales effort around deal management,
working closely with business partners in Sales, Finance, Legal and many other
internal stakeholders involved in a potential business transaction. In this
role you will become exposed to many disciplines within the business and will
play a critical role by managing complex, non-standard, business opportunities.
Role & Responsibilities: Role overview
This role is a strong business
partner and trusted advisor for the Sales and Finance Management teams, and
will ensure consistent end-to-end management of non-standard deals in alignment
to
Cisco's non-standard deals policies and procedures. As part of the bigger
Finance community, this role contributes in driving the companys objectives of
discount control and profit maximization.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the Regions Commercial
Finance activity, co-ordinating junior CF team members and working closely with
the Region Finance Director
Manage all non-standard deals for
technology, account or geographical
Work with the Sales Team to
optimize deals, mitigate risks for Cisco and prevent potential channel or
country/theatre conflicts
Drive consistency and adopt
standardization protocols to help the function scale up to the expected output
levels
Initiate, drive and manage key
initiatives that will improve the way Cisco manages non-standard deals for
continuous productivity improvements
General understanding of revenue
recognition issues, identifying non-standard terms and revenue recognition
issues in coordination and collaboration with the Corporate Revenue Accounting
team
Build and manage cross functional
relationships with Sales Account Teams, Legal, Segment Fin, SSF, Treasury,
Cisco Capital, Tax, Corporate Revenue etc.
Key tasks:
Deal management
Perform pricing analysis on
specific deals
Deal structuring and/or packaging
guidance
Facilitate deal reviews and
approvals by Sales and Finance
Approve deals
Reporting and analysis, with key
metrics and decision support
Minimum Qualifications
Skills required:
10+ years relevant job experience
gained in a large multi-national company with exposure to various financial
and/or commercial disciplines
Education and certifications:
Finance or Accounting degree
Recognized professional
accounting qualification
Knowledge and experience in
finance and accounting field (essential)
Proficiency in MS Office
(essential). Advanced Excel user (essential)
Fluency in English with excellent
written and oral communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills
(essential)
