IBM DB2 UDB demand with minimum 4
yrs exp
Candidate must have exp in AIX
environment.
Preferably hands on DB2 Version
9. 7 or later and having solid experience in the areas of Performance Tuning at
all levels (Application, sub-system, Database, SQL),
DB2 installations, patching,
configuration changes.
Restore, High Availability
Disaster Recovery, DB2 Workload Manager administration, Database health
monitor, table space management DB2 Storage Optimization,
Excellent Communication Skills.
DB2 Certification is an added advantage.
Define DB2 resources: catalog and
directory objects, WLM JCL, buffer pools, parms, PROCS, resource limit tables
Install DB2 related software
upgrades/ fixes for software currency, hardware compatibility, new customer
requirements and/ or platform compatibility
Install, support and customize
licensed DB2 software and related tools (client & 3rd party vendors)
Implement advanced features/
function of DB2 software (e. g. DB2 Parallel Sysplex, DB2 Data Sharing, Load
balancing, native XML, etc. )
Make recommendations with regard
to aspects of DB2 systems infrastructure (e. g. application performance,
database performance, data security, data usability)
Research, analyze and present
suitable solutions to meet business and technical needs as a DBA (application
or System DBA)
Should have strong work
experience in DB2 administration specific areas like Application support,
database maintenance and Performance optimization
Disk I/ O optimization techniques
using SAN and RAID technologies, DBA tools for database monitoring and
planning.
Work experience in CA Platinum Tools
and Utilities, BMC Tools and Utilities, REXX, DB2 Connect, DB2 PM and Omegamon/
DB2 an advantage
Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelors degree in Computer
Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
May hold entry-level or intermediate-level certification(s) in work field.
