Develops software as the primary job function; Designs, develops, debugs and
tests complex software in any field e.g., systems software, software
development tools, applications, drivers, numerical methods, UI's, web. Usually
holds an academic degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or
Computational Science.
The successful
candidate will work on the Android Kernel, the underlying operating system for
Intel's call phone and tablet platforms running Android. The development cycle
typically includes code, build, and verification.
The development
environment is fast-pased and highly collaborative and requires frequent
discussions with other programmers, often across continents, and a disciplined
approach with respect to test and integration.
Qualifications
You must possess
the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are
considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below
would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research
and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum
Qualifications:
I. Must have BS
or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
II. At the BS
level only, must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without
requiring sponsorship
III. Minimum of 3
months experience with software/programming languages (i.e. C, C++, C#, Pacal,
Modula 2, Fortran,Visual Basic/.NET. Perl, Python, Java, etc.)
IV. Minimum of 3
months experience with Linux (ie.Ubuntu)
V. Minimum of 3
months experiencewith Windows (we use for email, documentation, etc.)
VI. Minimum of 6
months experience with compilers and/or data structures
VII. Minimum of 3
months experience with principles of real-time coding or multi-threaded
applications
VIII. Minimum of 3
months experience with in at least one of the following areas: Linux kernel,
embedded systems, software engineering coursework, open source contributions
