Description

The Lustre Systems Engineer works with Intel's Lustre partners and customers to show them the technical value that Intel Lustre products and support bring by providing expertise for architecting, configuration, customer calls, customer visits, and RFP questions. Additionally the Lustre Systems Engineer will deliver classes, perform onsite Lustre deployments,and deliver other Lustre related consulting and software plus services deployments. The position requires in depth knowledge of Linux system administration, networking, and storage. Lustre or other parallel file systems experience is a plus.

Responsibilities include the following:
Be able to run Lustre and Intel Manager for Lustre demos.
Being able to speak to the Lustre and Intel Manager for Lustre features and roadmaps.
Help partners understand, to a good level of technical detail, what Lustre and ntel Manager for Lustre are good at, and deliver collateral. Do this directly or via Intel field personnel.
Help partners with RFP responses.
Help partners understand basic Lustre or Chroma configurations, and level of performance obtained. Help answer partner questions.
Provide pointers to benchmarks and performance studies.
Spec out a Lustre system and get it running.
Write or help write white papers.
Be able to speak at conferences, attend the booth at shows, attend meetings as needed with partners to close business.
Deliver Lustre and ntel Manager for Lustre training to partners as needed. Create content if needed.
Be able to install and tune Lustre and ntel Manager for Lustre at customer sites, as well as consult on how to keep Lustre running trouble-free.
Be willing to travel, on average, up to one week each month.

Qualifications

Good oral and written English communication skills. Other languages a plus.
Lustre, Linux, storage, and networking knowledge.
Lustre installation and tuning knowledge a plus.
Analytical, presentation, and people skills.
Onsite experience with Lustre in customer environments a plus.
Be able to get along well with customers and Intel peers.
Ability to work with a Lustre team that is distributed.
