Description
Intel seeks an
outstanding speech recognition researcher/architect characterized by concrete
contributions that have advanced the state of the art of either commercial or
academic speech recognition systems. As a member of our team, you will help
define and deliver software and hardware components of Intel's next generation
hardware accelerated speech recognition solutions. Track record of
technological innovation and creative thinking, and enjoy the challenge of
advancing state-of-the-art systems is expected. Essential attributes and
competencies include excellence in scientific thinking and execution, the
ability to define and pursue experimental definition, conduct investigations
and ultimately be responsible for the speech recognition performance of key products
and end-to-end services. The ability to work well in a large, multi-geo
environment is a must. Strong analytical skills spanning both software and
hardware domains are expected.
Responsibilities
Provides technical leadership in advanced development
projects as well as contribute individually
Provide experimental and theoretical analysis of speech
recognition problems
Formulate new algorithms, create research tools, design
and carry out experiments to verify new algorithms
Innovate to improve accuracy of our speech recognition
appliance
Work with hardware team members to introduce new product
features into our hardware-accelerated architecture - performance/power
Work with modeling team members to build and deliver
production grade acoustic models
Work with development engineers to ensure a high quality
implementation of algorithms
Follow developments in speech recognition research to keep
our work state-of-the-art.
Qualifications
PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or
language technologies
7+ years of Speech R&D in an academic or commercial
setting
Extensive familiarity with one or more speech recognition
engines e.g. Sphinx/HTK/Janus/Julius/Juicer
Expertise in one or more of acoustic modeling, discriminative
training, statistical language modeling, efficient search algorithms, finite
state transducers, statistical language modeling, and robust syntactic parsing
Extensive software and system level experience, including
good understanding of hardware designs
Software development skills, aptitude for software
algorithm design and prototyping
Experience in leading research teams is a plus
